Why a stick figure?

Because a stick figure is the smallest drawing that is still unmistakably a person. Take away one line and he collapses into a doodle. He sits exactly on the edge of enough — and that edge is the most honest place a hero can stand.

That's also the XRPL.

The XRP Ledger asked the same question about money. What's the fewest steps to move value across the world and have it truly settle? No mining arms race. No ten-minute confirmations. No bidding war for gas. Just a network of independent validators agreeing, every three to five seconds, that it's done.

Stuart and the ledger he lives on share one belief: speed and honesty come from subtraction, not addition. You don't get faster by piling on. You get faster by taking away.

So what makes him a hero?

A hero is whoever still stands when everything else has been stripped away. Stuart costs less than a penny to send anywhere on earth. He settles before you've finished reading this sentence. He needs no permission and answers to no single owner — the same crowd of validators that secures the ledger secures him.

He is light enough to belong to everyone and simple enough that anyone can draw him. That's not a limitation. On the XRPL, that's the whole superpower.
